Solar Drying
Solar Drying is the new term (Going Green) is in style. This isn't your Grandma's clothesline anymore. Very easy to install with simple directions. I love the fact that during bad weather I can fold the parallel clothesline down and put in storage. You can also hang alot of laundry out on this line and it rotates so you don't have to walk around removing your clothes. The customer service at Claires has been wonderfull and I will continue to keep ordering from you. Thanks
Take your laundry for a Spin on your deck or patio!
As "back to the landers" in the 70's, I have always believed there is nothing like fresh air and sun to dry your clothes. Even as a child, we only used the dryer during the rainy spells. Unfortunately, about ten years ago the deer ticks somehow consistently landed in our sheets, even when we no longer had the dog we suspected might have transferred them. So, I put my "earth mother" habit aside until I got the bright idea that ticks were in the grass... but not on the deck. I reasoned that a clothes line on the deck, rather than in the yard, was a plausible way to get off the grid. It was clear from googling the options that a steel unit would be the most long lasting. Whitney Design was repeatedly rated as a best bet and sure enough, Amazon had the best price on it. And it came only three days later!
So, today was wash day. What better way to celebrate a "cold" front (in July???) than to hang out. Instead of mounting it in concrete as directed, I instead used a glass patio table and simply "mounted" the pole in the table's center umbrella holes and into a sand (or water) filled base. Not only was that stable enough to hold the dryer system, the table top also provided a great space for the laundry basket, clothespins, and for folding.
No question, this is the best clothes drying systems I have used. I tightened the clothes lines so easily - it made me laugh as I remembered having to get poles to push the lines up way back when. This system spins readily and easily held three loads of laundry, with six lines still waiting for more. Because it calls for rain tonight, we easily folded it back up to store inside. That is, until the next wash day rolls around...
Great Energy Saver!
I bought this line at a local hardware store and I love it! It folds down when not using so the kids still have plenty of room to play in the yard. Plus, during their birthday party this past weekend, I was able to remove the entire line, post and all, and close over the cap of the enclosed ground sleeve, so it was completely out of the way. My husband was skeptical at first, worrying about the birds doing their business on our clothes, and tracking bugs into the house, but after smelling how fresh the clothes are and seeing our utility bill decrease, he loves the line, too! And by the way, I have not had a problem with either birds or bugs!
